Make your index available for publication on Open Archives

Have you indexed an archive source? So systematically put data such as first and last names and dates in a spreadsheet on your computer? And do you want family tree researchers to be able to use your index?

You can publish your index on Open Archives quite easily! The many family tree researchers who are active on Open Archives can then find more information and archive sources through your index. Naturally, the data from your index on Open Archives will be provided with a reference to the source and name. You will receive help from the Open Archives team who will take care of the technical aspects of loading the index.

There are some requirements for the index:

• the index may not contain data on living persons;
• the data is not yet available on Open Archives;
• the file must be presented in CSV format (any spreadsheet program can save in CSV format);
• the first line of the CSV file must contain a name for each column that indicates what kind of information is contained in that column;
• each line of the CSV file (except the first) must have a unique number - within the CSV file - so that during updates the lines are recognized by this number.
